Hello,

Cover art for Jeroen Steenbeeke's Book, The Ravens End Game ! Great guy, awesome story, great characters and a fun project to work on ! This character is Sarina, she is the greatest of all "Destroyers" in the saga. The Idea was to show the power of her abilities with an orb or fire being summoned around her.

enjoy !
I also included some steps in my process to give you a better Idea how I composed the image.

Peace
Michael.

Legacy of Mana

Hello, I want to share this cover art that I recently did for the "Legacy Of Mana" D&D campaign setting book. There is also a novel series that follows the campaign with the first book labeled "Hopes Ordeal" that had been published and can be purchased following the links below. It is an exciting adventure and I hope for the best for Lynnvander and Thomas Gofton.

More sketches and WIPS

Hello, I wanted to share some sketches for a few more book covers. The author is Jeroen Steenbeeke. He is a great person to work with and knows what he wants. The top sketches are for his book "Gift of the Destroyer" and The cover art has been completed for that one, I just need to post it. The second book, "The Ravens Endgame" is a tentative title and may change and these sketches are a WIP. I am currently working on the final art for this one. Jeroen wanted full sleeves for his covers that is why these sketches look very wide. They are ment for front back and spine. The font work in the bottom sketches are just place holders to get a good feel for the over all image and placement for composition.

WIPS

These were a few sketches that I did to get the idea for the covers. I dont care to much about the design of the character details at this point but focus on composition and story. I try to work out these first to get a solid base for the painting. I dont want to get all bogged down trying to get the face perfect or the weapons right but then fight the painting later because nothing is working. In the past I had a tendency to zoom in to much and focus on things that did not matter at the time and loose out on an over all feel to my paintings. It made my work look rather stiff and boring, so I am trying to loosen up and take it all in and work out the whole image and not just parts at a time. I am learning lots because there is so much to learn. Good times !
