Happy New Year !! 2011, last year went by way to fast it seems. Here is something to kick off the new year with, what better than a pirate women. This was a piece that I started but got very busy and didn't have all the time I wanted to spend on it. I have not posted much lately because time is not something I have a lot of these days it seems. Hopefully you guys will enjoy this work, maybe I will go back and do some touch ups.

Welcome back from the weekend ! here is a quick post of my work in progress on this piece. I had to change the anatomy a bit because it was off. it is good to step back from your work every now and then and go back to it to get a new perspective on composition. sometimes I get to caught up in the work that I dont step back enough and let it go for a bit and end up making mistakes. This is something that I am trying to do more of, is to have more patience and come back to the Painting later. Classical painting forces you to do this while letting the paint dry a bit and come back to your canvas later on. with digital you can go on and on and on. Well I hope you like it so far. I can only work on it bits at a time cause of other Job duties. I guess I can let my digital canvas dry a bit.

Hello out there, here is another tone study that I did yesterday. It took me about 3.5 hours to do. I trying to time my self to around 2 hours to get as much detail with the simplest brush strokes I can get. It is not easy and I am not a master that is for sure, but I want to achieve my goal and be able to capture solid form and light with as little effort as possible. So hence these studies when I get the time.

This is a work in progress that I am painting from Nicole's original sketch. I really want to push the contrast between colors. I am blocking in some hot and warm colors and hopefully get the contrast that I want with the character. We hope you like it !
